MANAGEMENT
TEAM
The Partnership is overseen by 4 investment professionals, all of whom have worked together separately or as a team for over 5 years. The investment professionals have extensive experience in selecting investment opportunities and adding value to portfolio companies. Robert Manners and Ray Moncrief have worked together for almost 10 years. Robert Manners and Randall Malone have worked together for over 20 years. Robert Manners and George Mathew have worked together for over 15 years. The investment professionals believe that working as a team, they will continue to generate proprietary deal flow and superior investor returns.
Robert M. Manners, President, Chief Executive Officer. Robert M. Manners is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the General Partner, a Member of the General Partner, the President of the Manager, and the founder of the Partnership. Mr. Manners graduated from New York Law School and Baruch College in 1994 with a joint Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Mr. Manners worked in the Operations Department of Shearson Lehman Hutton in New York City in 1989 and then in the Acquisitions Department with Sterling Securities in Manhasset, NY where he worked with Mr. Malone, who was in charge of Acquisitions. Mr. Manners lived in Paris, France for two years (1992-94), where he completed his MBA at the University of Paris IX, Dauphine, and worked in the International Capital Markets Division of Crédit Lyonnais. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Manners worked with Mr. Malone at Structured Capital Group in New York City, where he was involved in risk syndication in the leveraged buyout industry. In 1995, Mr. Manners founded Providence Group LLC to provide mergers and acquisitions advisory services to corporate clients. Mr. Manners founded his own law practice in 1999. Manners now devotes his full-time work to the Partnership. Mr. Manners is married, with one child. Mr. Manners is a minister with the United Pentecostal Church, International.
Randall K. Malone, Esq., Attorney at Law. Mr. Malone is the principal of Manners & Malone, PLLC, which is on general retainer to the Partnership. Mr. Malone is a Limited Partner in the Partnership. Mr. Malone worked together with Mr. Manners in the Acquisitions Department at Sterling Securities in Manhasset, New York in the early 1990s. Sterling was a national real estate syndicator that utilized low income housing tax credits. Mr. Malone was the Vice President of Acquisitions at Sterling, at which time he established and coordinated local partnerships and developed affordable housing with national investment partnerships. Mr. Malone negotiated property acquisitions and coordinated related legal and accounting work. Mr. Manners was Mr. Malone's assistant at Sterling and responsible to Mr. Malone for compliance. Mr. alone became an associate at Wisselman, Harounian & Associates in Great Neck, New York in 1997, where he concentrated on real estate, business litigation and matrimonial / family law. Malone graduated with a JD from Hofstra University Law School in 1995 (concentration in business law and taxation). Mr. Malone was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1996, and the Easter District Federal Courts in 1997. In 2016, Mr. Malone was selected by the New York State "Super Lawyers" for excellence in the practice of law, an honor achieved by only 5% of practicing attorneys in the region. Mr. Malone is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Better Business Bureau ("BBB") and the Christian Legal Society. Mr. Malone is married, with one child.
George Mathew, Chief Financial Officer; Executive Advisory Committee. Mr. Mathew is the acting CFO and an Executive Advisor to the Partnership. Mr. Mathew is the President and CEO of Amecan, Inc., a Limited Partner in the Partnership. Mr. Mathew is a highly successful businessman with extensive financial and international business experience. Mr. Mathew is the President of the GM Group of Companies headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. The GM Group of Companies consists of the following subsidiaries, each involved in the global community: Amecan, Inc., a multi-faceted single point sourcing company specializing in oil, gas and heavy industries. Amecan, Inc. represents hundreds of reputable manufacturers for operation and maintenance equipment with deep industry and business process expertise. The team consists of high caliber professionals who understand the needs of the client and provide total solutions for residential, commercial and investment related issues. Mr. Mathew has extensive experience working as a General Manager with plastics factories in Canada and Saudi Arabia, and he is fluent in 4 languages; English, Arabic, Hindi and Malayalum. He is active in causes related to alleviation of poverty in less developed countries. Mr. Mathew graduated from the University of Kerala with a degree in chemistry and from the Institute of Polymer Technology in Saharanpur with a degree in polymer technology. Mr. Mathew is married, with 3 children. He lives in Mississauga, Ontario.
EXECUTIVE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
L. Raymond Moncrief, Executive Advisory Committee. Mr. Moncrief is an Executive Adviser to the Partnership. Mr. Moncrief is the President and a partnership manager of the general partner of Meritus Ventures, LP, an investor in Superior Fabrication LLC. Meritus was organized to make equity investments in small business enterprises as defined by the Rural Business Investment Company regulations. Mr. Moncrief has held various positions within the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation since 1984 and he is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mountain Ventures, Inc., a Small Business Investment Corporation (SBIC) licensed by the U. S. Small Business Administration and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. In these capacities, Mr. Moncrief is responsible for the investing activities of Kentucky Highlands and Mountain Ventures including analyzing new investments and portfolio management. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of five of Kentucky Highlands' investee companies and has been instrumental in providing financial and operational leadership in many turnaround and financial restructuring situations. Mr. Moncrief has in-depth experience in startup, expansion, and divestiture of businesses. He provides technical and management assistance to entrepreneurs during every phase of business development beginning with the creation of their business plans and the startup and capitalization through the expansion of their companies, and the eventual sale of their companies. In addition, Mr. Moncrief is President and Chief Executive Officer and a board member of Southern Appalachian Management Company, LLC, the General Partner of the Southern Appalachian Partnership, L.P., organized to make equity investments in small business enterprises as defined by the New Markets Venture Capital regulations of the U. S. Small Business Administration. Mr. Moncrief is a Manager of the Southern Appalachian Partnership. President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Moncrief to the Community Development Advisory Board. This national board advises the director of the Community Development Financial Institutions Partnership on policies regarding activities and programs. Mr. Moncrief serves on the Board of Directors of the National Consumer Cooperative Bank located in Washington DC. The National Consumer Cooperative Bank is a US government-chartered, member owned cooperative corporation. NCB provides nontraditional community development finance coupled with technical assistance, public policy outreach and development services. Mr. Moncrief also serves on the Board of Directors of NCB Capital Impact. NCB Capital Impact is an affiliated non-profit corporation of NCB providing financial and technical services both directly and indirectly through separate subsidiary LLC's. For 30 years, NCB has been a valued strategic partner in delivering capital for mission related investments and assistance to underserved communities. Mr. Moncrief is a founding director and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Development Venture Capital Alliance (CDVCA). CDVCA honored Mr. Moncrief with a special Lifetime Achievement Award in March, 2004. This award recognized his deep-rooted commitment to using venture capital tools as a means of creating lasting change in the lives of low income individuals and the economies of distressed communities. Mr. Moncrief is also a member of the board of directors of the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition and the Community Development Financial Institution Coalition. Mr. Moncrief is an active Director on ten corporate Boards of Directors, and is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NASBIC) and is a past member of the Executive Committee of NASBIC. He is a founding board member of Southern Kentucky Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Moncrief has traveled nationally and internationally speaking about the use of equity investment as an economic development strategy. He has participated in several study groups analyzing capital needs in rural areas including an economic round table at the White House. Mr. Moncrief is often called upon to conduct training sessions at various conferences and meetings. Mr. Moncrief is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky and a 1972 graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. Degree in Accounting and completed graduate courses at Lamar University.
